Daris Benally, Rapid City SD, Obituary, In Loving Memory of Airman 1st Class Who passed away

With deep sorrow, we remember Airman 1st Class Daris Benally, age 24, whose life was tragically lost following an off-base vehicle accident near Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Airman Benally, originally from Rapid City, South Dakota, served as a missile handler assigned to the 341st Missile Maintenance Squadron. Following the accident on Thursday afternoon, he was transported to Benefis Health System, where he was later pronounced deceased. His passing has left his unit, friends, and loved ones in profound shock and grief.

Within the Air Force community, Daris was remembered not only for his dedication in uniform but also for the person he was beyond his duties. He was a teammate, a friend, and a valued member of the 341st Missile Wing. His presence fostered trust, camaraderie, and reliability among those he served alongside, and his absence is deeply felt across the base.
